I was amazed as I walked through the streets; it had been so long since I had seen a true city. I saw houses as well as apartment buildings, intermingled with the city structures and temples. In the land of the Maya the temples were the only real structures, surrounding them the people all lived in thatch huts. While these huts were very warm in the winter months and surprisingly cool in the summer, they were still huts as far as I was concerned. One of my stature should never be forced to live in a hut, not that I did, no I lived in the palace but that was not the point. The people lived in huts, here they had homes, villas, and apartments, as people should. I had enough of that back to nature type shit; I was never really one to commune with nature if you will. I enjoyed a good sunrise over the forest, yet I had no desire to live in the forest, I had done my time twice now in the wild. After being back in a city, I knew my place; never again would I live like an animal, only luxury for me.

I made my way to the finest hotel and procured lodging for three days and nights. As I walked up the stairs to my suite I knew I was back in my world. I had stayed in far grander hotels than this of course, but that had been a long time ago. I ordered that a barber be sent to my quarters after I had had a nice long bath. I then ordered that two slave girls be sent up to my room to wash my body down and then have sex with me. As with all men of means my request were not even questioned, all I heard was yes sir, yes sir. Lastly I ordered fresh clothing of the region be sent to my room, I required two outfits of the finest cloth.

When I arrived upstairs and entered my room I wanted to shed a tear. The suite was gigantic, as it should have been for the price. The bed chambers held a bed so five people could sleep within it with comfort. Oh a bed, how I longed to sleep in a bed once again. In the land of the Maya everyone slept in hammocks, which while comfortable to a point, compare little to the comfort of a bed. No this was a joy I had been waiting for, for over a century.

It didn’t take me but five minutes to jump in the steaming hot bath. Flower petals floated all around me in the oil scented water. I true bath, I had made baths back in the land of the Maya, but the people didn’t take to them like us Greeks, their loss. I felt as if I had died at sea and landed in heaven, then my fortunes became even better. A knock came at the door and two of the most beautiful women I had seen in a century walked in.
